Side panels typically contain German toasts (Prosit, Wohl bekomm’s, et al.). However, examples have also been seen reading “New Orleans/Souvenir” and “World’s Fair/St. Louis, Mo.”
Note also that some examples have an unusual ceramic hinge (bottom right) for which Diesinger was awarded the German patent number DRGM 250635 in 1905.
